Introduction

NEX is a more challenging and inventive way to play Diablo - it has developed in style and playability since its creation in 2014 and will be described below.

Discussing established variants such as Iron Man, Purist/Ultra Pure, Live Off the Land & more importantly, Hardcore; It was decided to make a foundation of a new way to play. NEX retains aspects of Iron Man (in the sense that one full difficulty must be cleared before advancing to the next) be it solo-play or team-play. It also retains aspects of the purist variant (self-found) & Hardcore (if your character dies, it cannot be played any further) The section below will explain more in detail.

NEX Modus Operandi

Conquest / IM Variant (Original - 2014)
Style: Pure, HC, Conquest
  • All Dlvls & all Difficulties are cleared
  • NEX characters remain dotless until moving on to the next difficulty for good
  • NEX characters can co op with other HC purists that are not in the clan
Conquests are progressions in-game, whether it is defeating a unique monster in an area unexplored or clearing a Dlvl and/or Difficulty previously uncleared
(Co ops are played with others with similar progress and Clvl range in Diablo)

Ruleset

Common Knowledge:
  • No dupes, No Hacks, No Mods: (Torch, etc)
  • No third-party programs (except video recording software for PvM & PvP gameplay)
Primary Rules:
  • Shopping & other town services are allowed
  • Farming items/gold & EXP'ing in previously cleared dungeon levels is allowed
  • It is only allowed to return to town if the Dlvl you inhabit has previously been cleared, you have completed a conquest or possess the Evade Charm
  • No shopping staves, books & scrolls of town portal - the town portal spell taught by a book or used by a staff is forbidden
  • Town portal scrolls found in the dungeon levels are the only means of returning to town (unless you possess the Evade Charm + one of any other charm)
  • Each difficulty (Normal/Nightmare/Hell) must be cleared before advancing onto the next & you cannot return to the previous difficulty once you obtain a dot
  • Your chosen Class & Build you claim when you start a NEX character must exclusively be played until its demise or completion
  •  If you die while you play solo, your character is treated as a hardcore character (it cannot be played any further)
  • If you die while you play with a team & if none of your teammates have the required means to resurrect you (it cannot be played any further)
  •  No Laz Runs - this makes you work as a team more proficiently and disables others from reaching endgame in an easy manner

After obtaining the rank of Usurper, your NEX character is no longer HC, gains use of all spells, may engage in PvP/co-ops & has the ability to change builds

Trade Protocol
(remaining as a purist is optional)

When two NEX members want to trade they must:

1: Both burn a cursed item with double-negative prefix/suffix (example: bent dagger of paralysis)

2: Have their trade item not fit for their class/build (example: a Warrior trading a bow)

3: Have another NEX member approve the trade as being balanced
